The successes continue: after Austria’s U21s Marco Friedl and Co. suffered a setback against England last month, Werner Gregoritsch’s men are back on track after a 4-0 win over Kosovo. Josh Sargent and Michael Lang’s national sides also picked up three points each.

Against Kosovo, not only did Marco Friedl show his qualities in defence, but also his talents as a goalscorer. With a powerful left-footed shot from distance, he scored his side’s second goal before the break. In the middle of the second half the 21-year-old leapt high in the box to power home a corner. When all was said and done, Werner Gregoritsch’s side won 4-0 and with 12 points from five games is in second place in the table.

Michael Lang’s Switzerland side also picked up three points. In the European Championship qualifying win over Georgia, Switzerland’s Cedric Itten scored the only goal of the evening. Lang did not play in his side’s victory in St. Gallen.

Another player whose side won was Josh Sargent. In the CONCACAF Nations League, The United States beat Canada 4-1 on Friday night and are now in a prime position to qualify if they win their next match on Wednesday. Sargent did not play in the win.
